1 cup moong dal, 1/4 cup rice, a green chilli, 1/2 inch ginger piece, Salt, Water, Oil or ghee
Rinse the moong dal and rice as usual. Soak it with rice in water.You can do it overnight or for 4-6 hours.
After soaking, drain the dal and rice. Now take a blender. Add the soaked contents with green chilies and ginger. Pour in a little water. Grind to a smooth batter. You will get your dosa batter.
Put the batter in a bowl. Now you can add salt to it as per your taste. Mix well. Let the batter rest for half an hour. This will give you a good flavour.
Heat a non-stick pan or tava. Put it on medium heat. Once hot, put a little oil or ghee to grease it.
Pour some of the batter onto the centre of the pan. Spread it in a circular motion. You can do so with a ladle. This will help you form a thin dosa.
Put a little oil or ghee around the edges of the dosa. Cook until the edges start to lift. You will see that the bottom turns golden brown.
Now you can flip the dosa. Do it carefully or it can break. Cook the other side for a minute. You need to make sure that it is cooked through.
Remove the dosa from the pan. Now you can serve your healthy moong dal dosa. You can eat it with chutney or sambar.
