1 cup dalia, 1 cup paneer, 1 finely chopped onion, 2 green chilies, 1-2 finely chopped carrots, 1/2 cup peas, 1/4 cup chopped bell pepper, 1 teaspoon mustard seeds, 1 teaspoon cumin seeds, 2 tablespoons oil or ghee, Salt to taste, 2.5 cups or Water, Fresh coriander leaves, Lemon juice
In a dry pan, roast the dalia. Put it on low heat until it turns slightly golden. It will happen in 4-5 minutes. Remove it from the pan and set aside.
In the same pan, add a little oil. Sauté the cubed paneer until it is golden brown. Remove and set aside.
In the same pan, add oil or ghee. Keep it until it heats up a bit. Then, you can add the mustard and cumin seeds. Let them splutter.
Add the chopped onions and green chilies. Sauté until the onions become golden. Then add the chopped carrots, peas, and bell pepper. Cook for about 3-4 minutes. Make sure the vegetables are tender.
Pour in 2.5 cups of water. Then add salt to taste. Bring it to a boil.
Now, slowly add the roasted dalia to it. Make sure you stir it continuously. This will not lead to any lumps.
Put the gas flame to low and cover the pan. Let it cook for 8-10 minutes. Then you will see that the dalia absorbs the water and becomes soft. Stir it to prevent sticking.
Once the dalia is cooked, add the paneer pieces. Mix well and turn off the heat. You can top it with coriander leaves. You can also add some lemon juice. It will give an extra flavour.
